10 reviews for Columbia Women’s Heavenly Long Hooded Jacket

I LOVE this coat. I am 5’6″ about 120 and ordered a small. Seems to fit true to size. I still have room to wear a sweat shirt under it. I love the weight of the coat. It is warm without being bulky. It’s definitely not a winter coat, but perfect for Fall or Spring. The hood is super cute with the added fuzzy detail. I bought this in black a couple of years ago and love it so much that I decided to get another color just to mix it up a bit. You never know when it’s going to rain when you live in Missouri so the hood comes in handy. I also like how the inside is lined with the omniheat thermal reflective which makes it easy to put on off without your sleeves getting all bunched up. The length is perfect as well, and I love the thumb holes on the sleeves. All around great coat.

I am a petite (short) 4″11″, 100 lb female who has struggled to find a winter coat that I don’t “swim in”. So after reading other customer reviews, I ordered the X-Small. Columbia has nailed it with the “Heavenly Long Hooded Jacket”. First of all, it is amazingly lightweight and very packable for travel. The outer shell has a nice water-resistant sheen to the fabric and the inner shell has the dotted Omni-Heat thermal reflective surface for helping retain heat. It’s just the right amount of warmth without making you overheat. The hood and collar are lined with a super-soft comfy fleece. The hood is just right for fit and hugs your head without flopping from side-to-side or covering your eyes. Zippered hand pockets are great for securing your phone, wallet or car keys. There’s also an additional hidden inner zipper pocket. The cuffs come with the thumbhole to keep the draft from climbing up your arm. The length is just right allowing for 3/4 body coverage and yet easy to move about. It has a 2-way zipper allowing you to zip from the top-down and/or the bottom-up depending on your preference. I love the quilted jacket design which provides a soft, feminine shaping contour which is lacking in many brands. The X-Small size allows for me to wear a long sleeve shirt and a sweater underneath without feeling confined. This jacket has a great feel and fit and you will love it

This jacket is definitely worthy of a 5 star rating in every category. Warm, well made, flattering fit, attractive. Having warm, well made clothes in the winter is important, however, if they also fit well, are not bulky, and are flattering then, that is a wonderful bonus.Though it is very warm, partially due to the innovative lining, I believe it could work as a mid-weight in milder temperatures.

I bought this to replace my beige car coat. My mom talked me into the color. The cuffs never come clean even with my many laundry tricks. Why did I buy the Columbia over something else? The Omni-Heat feature is why. My old one had the Therma-Coil which is awesome. The Omni-Heat replaced that feature. The jackets are so lightweight yet warm. They make great around town jackets. It is not a good super cold weather jacket.I chose this one because it is longer to keep my rear warm. The fleece hood is a nice feature too. There is a similar Columbia without the fleece if you prefer. The cuffs are great to keep out the wind. The one issue is the size. Buy at least one size up. I usually wear an XL at 5’3” and 170lbs. My other Columbia is an XL but has a straighter cut to it. The XL was tight, I could get away with it if I didn’t want any winter weight clothes on. Once I put on a sweater, zipping it was difficult. The pictures show the difference between the XL and XXL.Don’t buy the light colors at all. You will regret it.

I am 5’3 and 116lbs. I bought the Small so I can fit some warmer layers underneath. It actually is a very flattering jacket. A bit long on me (lands at just an inch or two above the knee). It is so lightweight, when I brought in the box, I thought there was no possible way a jacket fit in there. It’s too warm here for me to tell if it’s actually warm, but in a few weeks, I’ll be testing it in Seattle’s November. The hood is cozy and lined with nice fleece, and the sleeves were a good length for me – when I tried the heavenly short jacket, the sleeves were almost comically long. These land about mid-palm for me. I can’t wait to wear it. I hope it packs up nice and small for my trip, and I will be eager to update how it goes. Overall, love this jacket (I wish it was a tiny bit shorter, but better too long than too short, right?)Edit:It was perfect for my trip! I went when it was 45-50 degrees and it kept me warm (perhaps even a bit too warm in certain settings, like being in the car, but that’s not a downside) and it protected against windy weather super well. I wore a thick hoodie underneath and was very comfortable wherever I went. The hood is a bit small if you’re wearing a beanie or a hoodie, but otherwise, I’d say it’s a great jacket. My only gripe is that the arms aren’t insulated as well as the rest of the jacket. When it began to drizzle I could feel the coldness of the rain on my arms, even though the rain didn’t soak into the jacket.

Light weight but warm. I did size up to XL based on other reviews. Roomy but not too big for layering. Nice slim look, not puffy. Great length, nice soft inside of hood. Super comfy and looks nice! Love it.

Very nice coat. It’s quite warm with the omni heat silver inside. Nice cuffs inside the wrist area. Good quality. Price a bit high but I needed a coat. Would recommend this coat as it’s not very thick, light weight yet packs a lot of warmth.

The 3rd time I was wearing this coat I was walking my dog and stumbled on the curb. I fell flat on the ground with serious weight on my elbow and hip. My first question was, is my coat OK, did I damage it. The answer, nope you couldn’t even tell I’d fallen. I fell so hard my boot came off and flew a couple of feet, so it really was a hard fall.I bought this coat as a replacement of another Columbia coat that no longer fits, thanks to my middle age spread. I was going to purchase the same coat I was replacing but it no longer has the inner zippered pocket nor the comfort cuffs with thumb holes and this model had these features.I was leery that this new coat would be too heavy and I wasn’t certain I would like the faux fur lined hood. The coat is very, very slightly heavier than the coat I replaced. As for the lined hood, turns out I love it. The hood on the old coat would slide off my head and thanks to the lining in the new coats hood does not slide off my head. Plus it keeps my ears warm.I also like that I can unzip the coat from the bottom so when I sit in the car it doesn’t feel restrictive.I bought the same coat for my mom in another color and she adores hers as well. I gave it to her as an early Christmas gift.

This coat is awesome. My mother in law had it and recommended and she was right! It’s very warm, but not bulky. It’s a great length to cover your butt but not be too long. The pockets are soft and warm, there’s a hidden inside pocket that zips—probably one of my favorite features! The hood is the perfect size to stay on your head but not feel claustrophobic.

  10. Gretch

I absolutely love this coat. I had originally brought another Columbia coat in a 2 plus, it fit, but i was afraid I wouldn’t be able to wear a heavy sweatshirt with it, so I had to return it. I bought this one in a 3 plus, I probably could have gotten a 2 plus, but it still looks great, it’s not bulky at all and I have lots of room for clothes underneath it. So far I’ve been warm in it, I’m in Ohio and it’s been in the 30’s. It’s very lightweight, but still warm. The girl at work now wants to buy this coat because it’s a lot longer then some of the other jackets (this one covers your butt) and this one has a nice hood.
